Crédit Agricole CIB has appointed David Maisant as head of distribution and asset rotation ( DAR ) for Asia-Pacific and member of the DAR executive committee and the Asia-Pacific business committee, effective January 3.
Based in Hong Kong, Maisant reports locally to Jean-François Deroche, senior regional officer for Asia-Pacific, and functionally to Fabrice Schwartz, global head of DAR.
In his new role, Maisant oversees the bank’s loan distribution activities across the region. He replaces Sébastien Pietryk, who has been appointed global head of credit risk insurance and global head of secondary loan trading within DAR, on December 1 2024.
DAR is a dedicated loan distribution platform for Crédit Agricole CIB’s financing activities on the primary and secondary markets, with either cash or synthetic solutions. The capabilities of the platform enable the distribution team to design the syndication strategies, provide insight into market dynamics, structuring expertise to advise internal and external clients, support Crédit Agricole CIB’s commercial growth, and optimize its liquidity and capital allocations.
Maisant was previously head of leveraged and telecom finance distribution, EMEA, overseeing all syndicate activities for term loan B and high-yield Bonds in the region. He joined leveraged finance loan syndicate in 2006 before becoming head of the team in 2013. He helped drive the growth of the franchise and managed strategic projects including the integration of high-yield bond syndicate activities.
Prior to this role, Maisant was a director in the telecom finance origination team in Paris. He started his banking career in 1993 with Crédit Lyonnais.
