Thai Nguyet Minh has nearly two decades of local and global banking experience
The Asset   24 Feb 2026

Citi has appointed Thai Nguyet Minh ( Minh Thai ) as head of markets and country treasurer for Vietnam, effective immediately.

She replaces Minh Ngo, who was recently appointed as the bank’s country officer and banking head for Vietnam. She will report to Sue Lee, head of markets for Asia South.

As head of markets for Vietnam, Minh Thai will lead the development and execution of short and long-term strategies as she expands the markets franchise with clients across the country.

Minh Thai brings nearly two decades of experience in the local market, with a strong focus on client advisory, foreign exchange, and derivatives. She has held leadership roles across various financial institutions, including most recently at Maybank as head of global markets in Vietnam and at BNP Paribas, where she was head of global macro sales.

Comments Sue Lee: “Citi is well-positioned to capture the significant growth opportunities within Vietnam's dynamic markets franchise, an important part of our strategy within Asean. Our commitment to this economy remains strong, supported by the nation's robust economic growth ambitions and progress.

“With Minh Thai’s deep understanding of the local landscape and extensive experience across global and international banks, she is well-positioned to propel our franchise forward. She will lead the Vietnam markets business with a client-centric approach, leveraging our global footprint and comprehensive product offering.”
